A month ago I had FEMTO LASIK surgery done at the Eye Clinic SOMICH in Karlovy Vary. I was very satisfied with the process of the preoperative examination and the surgery itself. It was during the preoperative examination that MUDr. Studeny explained everything to me thoroughly, including the possible risks. Then during the operation he explained all the steps so that I knew what was happening and what it meant for me. The surgery itself was very quick, everything was done in about 15 minutes. Personally, I have to say I didn't feel any pain. Then again I was advised of what to avoid after the surgery and what to watch out for and I could go home. It was an amazing feeling. I went without glasses, the dioptric ones (I wore dark glasses as sharp light was unpleasant for me for a couple of days after the operation). I would like to say thank you to the entire team that looked after me very professionally during the preoperative examination, the surgery and also at the postoperative check - ups. Finally I would like to thank to doctor Kacerovsky who provided the postoperative examinations. If you are considering similar surgery you don't have to worry about it. The apprehensiveness prior to the surgery is certainly worth it to have better comfort after the surgery.

I kept wearing contact lenses and it needed to change. The main reason was swimming. Due to financial reasons I went for the cheaper type of laser surgery, the Excimer Laser (PRK method). After my experience I would recommend LASIK to everyone! Everything is ok now and I'm satisfied but for the first 3 days after surgery I suffered. It hurt. What is my impression of laser surgery? The first period is a bit unpleasant due to the gentle pressure on the eye and burning and tearing after surgery. After the analgesics everything was OK. I was determined to have the laser surgery from the age of 15. I was just waiting to get old enough and for the defect to get stabilized so that it would be possible to undergo the surgery. I was afraid of the operation but it didn’t put me off. Now I know my initial apprehension wasn’t necessary. Everything went quickly and smoothly. In the evening on the day of the surgery I felt quite a strong pain but I fell asleep and in the morning when I woke up I felt great and saw sharply at all distances. I had LASIK laser surgery on 24th May. From the beginning I counted on the fact that due to my age I will need glasses for reading after the surgery. The first night I felt pain so I took a pill according to the recommendation. The day after the surgery I saw well into the distance. My 'computer vision‘ has improved gradually, it took about 3 weeks. I’m very happy despite the fact that I really have to use glasses for near vision.
